DIABLO II: RESURRECTED

Class build guides

Explore popular builds for each class, including stat and skill allocations and equipment.

Fire

This build layers fire skills such as Fissure and Volcano to clear moving packs over a wide area. Physical damage and summons help with immunities, but high-end gear is expensive, and you must manage several spells, summons and resistances together.

Core requirements

The advanced setup is A, and the budget setup is B.

Strength

Do not rely on an item's own Strength to equip it initially, and meet requirements on swap too. Invest only the shortfall after accounting for Enigma and confirmed charm bonuses. Meet 91 Strength before equipping Sandstorm Trek without its own bonus; likewise, meet 65 before equipping Jalal's Mane without its own +20 Strength.

Dexterity

Do not spend additional points to reach 75% shield block. A's Flail requires 35 Dexterity; B's Crystal Sword has no Dexterity requirement. Recheck weapon requirements when changing equipment.

Vitality

Fight behind your mercenary and summons, investing remaining attributes in life. B follows the same principle.

Energy

Use mana potions and Mana after each Kill early on. After switching to A without Insight, keep carrying mana potions. Spell damage cannot steal mana.

Developing an Insight mercenary

Upgrade the Insight mercenary to an ethereal elite polearm to improve first-kill damage. Use Ral in Andariel's Visage to offset its -30 fire resistance; Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest can be equipped from level 66. A: when switching to another weapon, prioritize retaining its aura or enemy resistance reduction.

Charge management

Monitor Teleport charges and repair gold. You lose shield resistances while holding the staff, so do not land in the middle of enemies.

Upgrade order

  1. Secure mana and FCR with Spirit, Insight and Magefist
  2. Add the Sunder Charm after Flickering Flame and sufficient fire resistance
  3. Obtain Heart of the Oak, Arachnid Mesh and two FCR rings
  4. Add Enigma and Phoenix while maintaining 99% FCR
  5. Add an Infinity mercenary, Call to Arms and Elemental charms

Playstyle

Preparing to farm

Summon the sage, wolves and bear, then activate Armageddon. A checks the mercenary's Conviction and your own fire resistance.

Ordinary packs

Place Fissure along enemies' path and Volcano beneath stationary targets. Cast Firestorm between them and layer Armageddon when close.

Bosses

Let the bear hold the boss and repeat Volcano beneath it, Fissure, then Firestorm at close range. Do not just activate Armageddon and wait.

Handling immunes

A uses Renewed Flame Rift together with the helm, Phoenix and Infinity. B uses the physical components of Volcano and Armageddon plus the mercenary against fire-only immunes. Bypass slow dual immunes.

B Farming areas

Start in areas with few fire immunes, such as Nightmare Cows and the Hell Stony Tomb. Exclude the fire-immune-heavy Chaos Sanctuary from primary farming until A gear is ready.

Transition requirements

You can level with this skill family from level 12, when Fissure unlocks. Equip the Sunder Charm only after obtaining enemy fire resistance reduction and sufficient personal resistance.

Mechanics and notes

Patch 3.3 · Ladder 15 · 2026-09-28

Why alternate skills

Since 2.4, delayed fire spells do not share their cooldowns. After placing Fissure, use Volcano and Firestorm to fill the waiting time with attacks.

Resistance after immunity

Sunder lowers fire immunity to 95% resistance; enemy fire resistance reduction on gear is still needed. Infinity's Conviction applies at 1/5 effectiveness to sundered immunes. The Infinity weapon's enemy lightning resistance modifier does not affect your fire spells.

Why retain physical damage

Volcano and Armageddon also deal physical damage. Reduced enemy fire resistance does not increase this portion, but it gives B another way to handle fire-only immunes.

Strengths, limitations and farming style

Strengths

Fissure clears moving packs over a wide area.

Physical components and summons help with early immunity handling.

Limitations

A is expensive with Phoenix, Infinity and Enigma.

Several spells, summons and resistances require simultaneous management.

Additional variants

Ravenlore

Replace Flickering Flame with Ravenlore only after charms and gear supply enough fire resistance. Losing the Resist Fire aura requires recalculating the Sunder Charm penalty. Keep the skills.

Fissure-focused allocation

If you use Fissure more often than Armageddon, respec and move 4 points from Armageddon to raise Molten Boulder to 20. This differs from the base image's Armageddon 20 and Molten Boulder 16.
